EMPLOYEE REQUESTS FOR REDUCED WORK SCHEDULES. When medically necessary and supported by medical certification, the University shall grant an eligible employee's request for a reduced work schedule or intermittent leave including absences of less than one (1) day. When granted, the University will count only the time actually spent on the intermittent leave or reduced work schedule towards the employee's entitlement of four-hundred eighty (480) hours in the leave year.

  • Employee-Requested Schedule Changes Overtime-eligible employees’ workweeks and work schedules may be changed at the employee’s request and with the Employer’s approval, provided the Employer’s business and customer service needs are met and no overtime expense is incurred.

  • Employee Requests To reduce the impact of a layoff, an employee may request a voluntary layoff, leave without pay, a reduction in compensation, reduction in hours of work, or movement to a funded, vacant exempt position for which the employee is qualified. If it is necessary to limit the number of employees who are on unpaid leave at the same time, the President, reporting Vice President, or designee, in consultation with the Associate Vice President for Human Resource Services and/or designee, will determine who will be granted a leave without pay and/or reduction in hours based upon business and staffing needs. The decision regarding whether to move an employee to a vacant exempt position is discretionary with the College.

  • Flexible Work Schedules (a) Academic Professional staff members throughout the University may have, as indicated below, flexible work schedules. For example, Academic Professionals often travel on University business and/or work evenings and weekends. A flexible work schedule is defined as having established working hours different from the standard 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday schedule, to be followed by an employee for an agreed upon period of time.

  • Work Schedules Workweeks and work shifts of different numbers of hours may be established by the Employer in order to meet business and customer service needs, as long as the work schedules meet federal and state laws.

  • Alternative Work Schedules An alternative work schedule is defined as a work schedule that requires a change, modification or waiver of certain provisions of this Agreement. Alternative work schedules not specified in this Agreement may be established by the Hospital with the consent of the employee and the Union. Alternative work schedules within this context include:
