Exceptional Searches are rare appointments where the University cannot identify the eventual appointee’s home Department at the time of the initiation of the search. The Search Committee shall consist of: the Chair of a Department (named by the Xxxx); four (4) Members elected from and elected by the Departments; and up to two (2) persons appointed by the Chair. At least three (3) of the four (4) elected Members must hold tenure. Prior to the commencement of the search, the Association shall be advised.

Further increments shall be based upon the seniority increment anniversary date in the prior appointment.

The employees shall retain the right of appeal under the grievance procedure contained in this Agreement.
