Excessive Absences. Excessive Absences is defined as unexcused absences for 10% or more of the total workdays at any given point in the school year. Unexcused absences are absences that are not associated with FMLA, Approved Workers Compensation, Jury Duty or Professional Development. For example, an employee who has 6 unexcused absences within a 60 work day period is considered to have excessive absences.
