Exhaustion of Sick Leave Balance. If an absence is due an employee’s or immediate family member’s illness or injury and extends beyond the accumulated sick leave balance, any accumulated vacation hours will be applied. An employee may also be eligible for the Sick Leave Bank in accordance with Section 2, below. Leave without compensation may be requested in accordance with Article 23 (Unpaid Leaves).
