Family Crisis. Subject to operational needs, and upon reasonable notice to the employee’s immediate supervisor, employees shall be eligible to use accumulated leave credits for the purpose of dealing with family crisis situations (e.g., divorce counseling, family or parenting conflict management, family care urgent matters and/or emergencies). If the employee has exhausted available leave credits, the employee may request unpaid leave. Family is defined as the parent, stepparent, spouse, domestic partner (as defined in accordance with Family Code section 297), child, grandchild, grandparent, brother, sister, stepchild, or any person residing in the immediate household.
