Family Illness/Injury. The start of a family leave for a serious health condition of a family member shall begin on the date requested by the employee or, if none is requested, on a day designated by Management.

Family Illness/Injury. Sick leave may be used by an employee for illness or injury consistent with provisions of the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) in the immediate family which shall be defined as spouse, child, parent and legal guardian. Request to have such family care leaves deducted from sick leave are to be completed through the district notification system. The district may require a doctor's certificate on family care leave claims for three (3) days or more.
