Common use of Floating Holiday Clause in Contracts

Floating Holiday. Effective on and after July 1, 1995, Columbus Day, the second Monday in October, shall be a regular workdays for State employees. Employees assigned to work that day, or who have that day as a regularly scheduled day off, shall as a ―floating holiday‖ receive compensatory time off at straight time rates for a full day. Such ―floating holiday‖ day off shall be scheduled with at least a month’s advance notice by the employee with the approval of the appointing authority.
