Common use of Forward journey Clause in Contracts

Forward journey. A. The time spent in travelling, at the Base Rate up to a maximum of eight (8) hours per day for each day of travel (to be calculated as the time taken byrail or the usual travelling facilities). B. The amount of a fare on the most common method of public transport to the job (bus; economy air; second class rail with sleeping berths if necessary, which may require a first class rail fare), and any excess payment due to transporting tools if such is incurred. C. Any meals incurred while travelling at the rate of Meal Allowance as stipulated at clause 2.3(f) of the Agreement. D. Provided that the Company may deduct the cost of the forward journey fare from an Employee who terminates or discontinues employment within two (2) weeks of commencing on the job and who does not forthwith return to the Employee’s place of engagement.
