General Leave Provisions. All leaves of absence must be requested by an employee in writing as far in advance as possible stating the reason for the leave and the amount of time requested. Except as otherwise provided for in this Agreement, it shall be the Operator’s prerogative to grant or deny the request. A leave of absence begins on the date of first absence from work. Failure to return from a leave of absence by the agreed upon return date subjects such employee to discipline by the Operator.
