General Training Policy. The Employer recognizes that the availability of training opportunities is in the best interests of the Employer and all of its employees. Therefore, the Employer shall continue in effect the provisions of Chapter 7 of the Employee and Labor Relations Manual, Training and Development, as such chapter may apply to employees covered by this Agreement. The United States Postal Service Occupational Medical Program strives to maintain the highest level of medical and nursing expertise. Employer- provided continuing education for nurses will be part of this effort. In furtherance of this policy, nurses may be required to attend courses, seminars, and meetings to enhance their occupational nursing skills as those skills relate to employment as Postal Service Occupational Health Nurses.
