Grievance Mediation Process. Within ten (10) working days of the employer’s decision at Step III, prior to an appeal to Arbitration, and with the mutual agreement of the parties, a grievance may be submitted for mediation through the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services (FMCS) and the Michigan Employment Relations Commission (MERC).
