Overtime work definition

Overtime work shall have the meaning set forth in Section 3.7 of this Agreement.
Overtime work means work performed:
Overtime work means time worked on holidays and time worked in excess of forty (40) hours in a period of one hundred sixty-eight (168) con- secutive hours, except that in the case of those employees engaged in law enforcement, correctional and fire protection activities characterized by irregular shift work schedules, time worked in excess of one hundred sixty

  • Overtime work is permitted in cases of need and the EMPLOYER will not compensate the same.

  • A casual Employee shall also be entitled to receive, in addition to their casual rate, penalty payments for Overtime, work performed on weekends, work performed on public holidays and RDOs, Domestic Violence leave and unpaid cultural leave.

  • Overtime work assignments shall be distributed as equally as is feasible among employees in the work unit who normally do the particular type of work needed.

  • A casual Employee shall also be entitled to receive in addition to their casual rate, penalty payments for Overtime, work performed on weekends, work performed on public holidays and RDOs.

  • Overtime work must be approved in advance by the Employer and shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half times the employee’s straight time hourly rate, or double time for registered nurses as appropriate.


More Definitions of Overtime work

Overtime work means work done in excess of one hour over the prescribed hours of work on any working day and includes work done on any Sunday or any other holiday.

Completed overtime is credited by the full half-hour. If overtime work has been carried out both before and after regular working hours on any one day, the two overtime periods shall be added together.
Overtime work means all time worked in excess of an employee’s regular shift hours in any consecutive twen- ty-four hour period in a day or a regular number of shifts in a week as outlined in Section but overtime work does not include: who are willing to work the required overtime.
