HEALTH AND SAFETY/COMMUNICATION. Section 1. Health And Safety. The City agrees to furnish and to maintain in safe working condition all tools, facilities, vehicles, supplies, and equipment required to safely carry out the duties of each employee. An employee shall be required to make a written report of any unsafe working condition, and such report shall be submitted to the Chief of Police (or his designee). The Chief shall take the necessary action to correct the reported hazard, provided it is within his power to do so. Should the condition constitute a potential threat to the lives of an employee and/or the citizens of the community, the Chief shall take immediate action to correct the hazardous condition, if it is within his power to do so. If the action required is not within the Chief's jurisdiction, he shall immediately report the situation and actions required to his superiors for their action with a copy of such report to be forwarded to the employee.

HEALTH AND SAFETY/COMMUNICATION. In order to xxxxxx a safe work environment, Suppliers shall provide workers with appropriate workplace health and safety information and training, including written health and safety information and warnings, in the primary language of the workers. Suppliers shall post, in the primary language of its workers, Material Safety Data Sheets for any hazardous or toxic substances used in the workplace, and properly train workers who will come into contact with such substances in the workplace.

Xxxxxx shall prepare and submit under separate cover from the Work Plan, a Health and Safety Plan consistent with Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations. The Health and Safety Plan shall be submitted to the Department in the form of one electronic copy on compact disk (in .pdf format). Xxxxxx agrees that the Health and Safety Plan is submitted to the Department only for informational purposes. The Department expressly disclaims any liability that may result from implementation of the Health and Safety Plan by Xxxxxx. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

  • Health and Safety Grievances A. It is the policy of the State employer to enforce safety and health, policies, procedures, and work practices and protect employees from harm in connection with State operations.

  • Health and Safety Committee Where required a committee will be formed and will meet where required by the Employer’s safety policies and by statute.

  • Health and Safety Training Regular employees and auxiliary employees in posted positions shall participate in a Health and Safety Training session once in a calendar year. The training program offered by the Employer must be approved by the joint Health and Safety Committee prior to such training commencing. Training will be provided during normal work hours and employees shall suffer no loss of pay or benefits.

  • Environmental Health and Safety i. Environment, Health and Safety Performance. Seller acknowledges and accepts full and sole responsibility to maintain an environment, health and safety management system ("EMS") appropriate for its business throughout the performance of this Contract. Buyer expects that Seller’s EMS shall promote health and safety, environmental stewardship, and pollution prevention by appropriate source reduction strategies. Seller shall convey the requirement of this clause to its suppliers. Seller shall not deliver goods that contain asbestos mineral fibers.

  • ENVIRONMENT, SAFETY AND HEALTH PROTECTION (a) Seller shall perform this Agreement in a manner that ensures adequate protection for workers, the public, and the environment, and shall be accountable for actions of itself and its lower-tier subcontractors, agents and employees. Seller shall exercise a degree of care commensurate with the work and the associated hazards. Seller shall ensure that management of environment, safety and health (ES&H) functions and activities is an integral and visible part of Seller’s work planning and execution process. In the event that Xxxxxx fails to comply with this Agreement, Company may, without prejudice to any other legal or contractual rights, issue an order stopping all or any part of the work; thereafter a start order for resumption of work may be issued at Company’s discretion. Seller shall make no claim for an extension of time or for compensation or damages by reason of or in connection with such work stoppage. In addition, Company may require, in writing, that Seller remove from the work any employee the Company deems unsafe, incompetent, careless, or otherwise objectionable.
