Health and Safety Emergency. If prior to or during the term of this Contract the Center for Disease Control and/or the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services, or District Health Department #10 indicate there is a health emergency due to an epidemic/pandemic the University will enforce Addendum A as an essential term of this Contract.
Health and Safety Emergency. Law enforcement officials seeking access to education records under the health and safety emergency exception should contact the student's principal and must present sufficient information for the principal to make the determination that a health and safety emergency, within the requirements of FERPA, exists. If an education record is disclosed under this exception, the student's file must contain a record of the basis for the disclosure (the "articulable and significant threat to the health or safety of a student or other individuals") and the parties to whom the information was disclosed.
Health and Safety Emergency. School officials may disclose and information from student records to appropriate parties, including law enforcement officials whose knowledge of the information is required to protect the health and/or safety of a student of other individual if there is a significant and articulable threat to the health or safety of a student of other individual after considering the totality of the circumstances. Law enforcement officials seeking access to records under the health and safety emergency exception must contact the appropriate building principal and must present sufficient information for a health and safety emergency, within the requirements of FERPA. If student information is disclosed under this exception, the student’s file must contain a description of the articulable and significant threat that formed the basis of the disclosure and the parties to whom the information was disclosed.
