Holiday Falling on a Regularly Scheduled Day Off. When a recognized holiday falls on a regularly scheduled day off, a regular employee shall receive off, as determined by the City, one day off, the work-day immediately preceding or the work-day immediately following the regularly scheduled day off in lieu of the holiday. If the day in lieu of the holiday is worked, pay shall be computed as overtime and paid at the applicable rate.

  • Holiday Falling on a Scheduled Workday An employee who works on a designated holiday which is a scheduled workday shall be compensated at the rate of double-time for hours worked, plus a day off in lieu of the holiday; except for Christmas and New Year's when the compensation shall be at the rate of double-time and one-half for hours worked, plus a day off in lieu of the holiday.

  • Holiday Falling on a Day of Rest (a) When a paid holiday falls on an employee's day of rest, the employee shall be entitled to a day off with pay in lieu.

  • Compensation for Holidays Falling on Scheduled Days Off 1. When a holiday falls on a full-time employee's regularly scheduled day off, the employee shall receive eight (8) hours of compensatory time.

  • Holiday Coinciding with a Day of Vacation Where an employee is on vacation leave and a day of paid holiday falls within that period, the paid holiday shall not count as a day of vacation.

  • Scheduled Days Off Except in cases of emergency, no employee will be required to return to his/her place of employment on his/her scheduled day off.

  • Payment for Working on a Holiday (The following clause is applicable to part-time employees only) The holidays listed in the part-time local Appendix for the purposes of Article 16.03(b) shall be the same holidays as are listed in the full-time Local Provisions Appendix. If an employee is required to work on any of the holidays set out in the local Appendix the employee shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) her regular straight time hourly rate of pay for all hours worked on such holiday.
