Illness in the Family. 1. In the event of a confining or incapacitating illness of a member of the employee’s family, where no one other than the employee can provide for the needs of the ill person, the Board may grant up to three (3) days leave of absence without loss of pay per school year depending upon the circumstances and the distance involved. 2. For the purposes of this Article, family shall be defined as spouse, common-law spouse, child, father, mother, sister, brother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparents, or other dependent relative.
