Industrial Accident and Industrial Illness Leave. In addition to any other benefits that a unit member may be entitled to under the Worker's Compensation laws of this state and in accordance with the provisions of Education Code Section 45192, and only to the extent provided by law, unit members shall be entitled to the following benefits: 8.7.1 A unit member suffering an industrial injury or industrial illness arising out of, and in the course and scope of his/her employment, shall be entitled to leave of up to sixty (60) workdays in any one fiscal year for the same industrial accident or industrial illness. This leave shall not be accumulated from year to year. Industrial accident or industrial illness leave shall commence on the first day of absence. Industrial accident or industrial illness leave shall be reduced by one day for each day of authorized absence regardless of a compensation award made under Workers' Compensation.
