Interim Assignments. ‌ A member may be given an Interim Assignment to a position within the bargaining unit or to a position outside of the bargaining unit for up to a one-year period, which may be extended by mutual agreement, for an additional year. A member given an Interim Assignment will continue to accrue seniority in this bargaining unit. At the end of an Interim Assignment, such member shall have the right to return to their former position (if it still exists) at the rate the member would have received absent the interim assignment, or to another mutually agreed-upon bargaining unit position the employee is qualified to perform, absent just cause and subject to the other provisions of this Agreement.
