Common use of Intermittent or Reduced Leave Clause in Contracts

Intermittent or Reduced Leave. An eligible employee may take leave to care for a family member with a serious health condition on an intermittent basis, or on a reduced leave schedule, when a health care provider deems it medically necessary. This is also true if the employee is unable to perform the essential functions of his or her job because of a chronic serious health condition, even if the employee does not receive treatment by a health care provider. Double Spouse Leave: When both spouses are employed by the State of Iowa and are eligible for leave under this Agreement, they are limited to a combined total of twelve (12) weeks of leave for the birth, adoption and xxxxxx placement of a son or daughter, or the care of a parent.
