Internationalization and Business Development. In previous batches, we offered Demo Days as well as a Deceleration event as extra services to the startups. Due to the special nature of the IMPACT Extension Program (fewer startups, shorter time frame), offering these services was not feasible nor optimal. During the IMPACT Extension Program, we offered new services better suited for the mature startups we intentionally selected this time. These services consisted of the International and Business Development services, outlined in this section, and Marketing and PR services, described in the following sections. The Internationalization and Business Development services consisted of two Digital Missions, one to London and the other to Silicon Valley in California. The objective of both missions was to connect startups with the global ecosystem in order to obtain funding, clients, and partners from different parts of the world. IMPACT team designed the agenda, set the goals and defined the methodology to achieve those goals, but also took care of logistics and budgeting. The most important activities to design and organize the program were: ● Designing the agenda: This was based on the stage and needs of the startups, the time frame and budget restrictions. In general we came up with a mix of group meetings, one-to-one meetings and some investment activities. For example, opening the trip with a “Mindset change” to adapt the way of doing business of the local culture, and closing the trip with a “Dinner with top personalities,” where the startups could invite their contacts, and IMPACT could as well, to offer startups a second contact point with the top influencers they met during the trip. ● Customizing and achieving the meetings and activities: Customizing the experience for each startup, asking and understanding what they expect and want to obtain from the Digital Mission. Selecting and sub-contacting the relevant local company to help with their network and experience. Due to these companies, but also thanks to the IMPACT team and mentors and their extensive network, we achieved a good number of top meetings. ● Logistics and budgeting: Selecting the relevant flights, hotels, local transportation and suggesting events or restaurants. Offering an inexpensive trip where IMPACT paid for the flights and lodging in advance and set the threshold for the other costs and a way of reimbursing it. ● Flexibility and free time: IMPACT Team offered all these services but also offered flexibility to the startups to c...

  • Skills Development The Company acknowledges the changing pace of technology in the electrical contracting industry and the need for employees to understand those changes and have the necessary skill requirements to keep the Company at the forefront of the industry. The Parties to this Agreement recognise that in order to increase the efficiency, productivity and competitiveness of the Company, a commitment to training and skill development is required. Accordingly, the parties commit themselves to:

  • Staff Development ‌ The County and the Association agree that the County retains full authority to determine training needs, resources that can be made available, and the method of payment for training authorized by the County.   • Curriculum Development This includes the analysis and coordination of textual materials; constant review of current literature in the field, some of which are selected for the college library collection, the preparation of selective, descriptive materials such as outlines and syllabi; conferring with other faculty and administration on curricular problems; and, the attendance and participation in inter and intra-college conferences and advisory committees.

  • Job Development Job development/placement is individualized and shall include weekly person-to-person job search assistance, assistance with identifying job leads, interview coaching and support, and maintaining a log of job search activities for the purposes of obtaining competitive integrated employment. By mutual consent of the consumer and the KARINA ASSOCIATION, INC. , these services may be provided in-person or by Skype, FaceTime, or other online communication tools. Job development/placement may also include arranging job trials/job shadowing for individuals with a DORS Trial Work Experience Plan, assistance with completing applications, assistance with employer follow-up after interviews, use of personal employment networks in job search, and resume update. It would include time spent calling employers, visiting and educating employers and similar activities. Job development/placement shall not be paid for using supported employment funding and shall not include the Discovery process, which is pre-vocational in nature and may be completed prior to job development. Up to 60 hours for job search assistance, authorized in 20-hour increments, may be used for job development. Additional hours of job development may be requested and require written justification by KARINA ASSOCIATION, INC. and approval of the DORS regional/program director. Authorizations for Job Development. DORS only pays for job development services which have been previously authorized by a DORS official. Job Development Reporting. The Employment Service Progress Form is expected to be submitted to DORS on a monthly basis per consumer. This form is available on the DORS website (xxx.xxxx.xxxxxxxx.xxx).

  • Professional Development 9.01 Continuous professional development is a hallmark of professional nursing practice. As a self-regulating profession, nursing recognizes the importance of maintaining a dynamic practice environment which includes ongoing learning, the maintenance of competence, career development, career counselling and succession planning. The parties agree that professional development includes a diverse range of activities, including but not limited to formal academic programs; short-term continuing education activities; certification programs; independent learning committee participation. The parties recognize their joint responsibility in and commitment to active participation in the area of professional development.

  • Strategic Planning Facilitate the effective alignment of IT requirements/ Information Resource Management (IRM) plans with strategic business plans and program initiatives. Management Improvements: Development and implementation of improved systems and business practices to optimize productivity and service delivery operations (e.g., analysis, and implementation of improvements in the flow of IT work and program processes and tool utilization, including business system analysis, identification of requirements for streamlining, re-engineering, or re-structuring internal systems/business processes for improvement, determination of IT solution alternatives, benchmarking).
