Common use of Interruption of Leave Clause in Contracts

Interruption of Leave. In the event that a holiday occurs during a period of authorized vacation leave, the workday, which is the holiday, shall be charged as a holiday and not as a day of vacation. In the event that a represented employee is seriously ill during scheduled vacation, the full workdays on which such illness occurs shall not be charged to vacation leave, provided that a doctor’s certificate or report of treatment is submitted to and approved by the department head.
