INTRODUCTORY PERIOD AND DISCIPLINE. 7 A. Introductory Period. A nurse will be in an introductory period for the first 180 8 calendar days of employment by the Hospital. Neither discipline nor termination of 9 employment of an introductory-period nurse will be subject to the grievance procedure 10 under this Agreement. The Hospital will make every reasonable effort to coach nurses 11 on any performance deficiencies prior to termination.

INTRODUCTORY PERIOD AND DISCIPLINE. 24 A. Introductory Period. 25 A nurse will be in an introductory period for the first 180 calendar days of employment 26 by the Hospital. Neither discipline nor termination of employment of an introductory- 27 period nurse will be subject to the grievance procedure under this Agreement. The 28 Hospital will make every reasonable effort to coach nurses on any performance 29 deficiencies prior to termination. 31 B. Discipline. 32 Nurses who have completed the introductory period may be disciplined for proper 33 cause. Discipline may include verbal warning, written warning, suspension with or 34 without pay, or termination of employment. These forms of discipline will generally be 1 used progressively, but the Hospital may bypass one or more of these forms of 2 discipline for causes that it deems more serious.

  • SUSPENSION AND DISCIPLINE 29.01 When an employee is suspended or discharged from duty, the Employer undertakes to notify the employee in writing, with a copy to the Association, of the reason for such suspension or discharge. The Employer shall endeavour to give such notification at the time of suspension or discharge.

Discharge or discipline grievances may be settled by confirming the Company's decision or by re-instating the discharged or suspended employee with full compensation for time lost, less interim earnings if applicable, or by any other arrangement which is just and equitable in the opinion of the parties or of a Board of Arbitration if the matter is referred to it.
