Judicial Leave. 10.7.1 Bargaining unit members will be provided leave for regularly called jury duty and to appear as a witness in court, other than as a litigant, for reasons not brought about through the convenience or misconduct of the bargaining unit member. The bargaining unit member shall submit a written request for an approved absence no less than ten (10) days prior to the beginning date of the leave as a witness. Bargaining unit members shall not be granted judicial leave with pay for any matter in which the bargaining unit member is an adversary to the District. 10.7.2 The bargaining unit member, while serving jury duty, will receive pay in the amount of the difference between the bargaining unit member's regular earnings and any amount received for jury service.
