Notice to Supervisor. Staff members wishing to leave their normal place of work to engage in joint University/Association business shall inform their supervisor as soon as possible. The absence shall be approved if, in the supervisor’s reasonable judgement, such absence would not interfere with the satisfactory and timely performance of the staff member’s normal University duties.
Notice to Supervisor. The University and the Association expect staff members to use this flexibility responsibly. Whenever possible, staff members will inform their supervisors in advance of the absence and keep the absence as short as is necessary to deal with the circumstances requiring the absence.

Full-time, benefit eligible and part-time employees with accrued paid absence leave shall have the personal responsibility to notify their supervisor of an intended absence a reasonable time prior to the start of their scheduled work day. Employees failing to give such notice shall not be eligible for paid absence leave established by this Article.

The employee shall remit to the Employer whatever sum is paid to him on compensation for his appearance or service. The employee shall remit a certificate showing evidence that he appeared and served as mentioned above to receive pay for same.

In the event that the supervisor or designee is not accessible to authorize the rest or meal period, the Employee may use his/her judgment regarding the necessity to work through the rest or meal period. 336 4. Employer’s Responsibility for Employee’s Rest and Meal Periods. The primary responsibility for ensuring that Employees take rest and meal periods shall rest with the Employer.
Notice to Supervisor. One full day’s notice shall be given to the employee’s supervisor for each day off requested by the employee.
