Common use of Judicial Leave Clause in Contracts

Judicial Leave. 1. Employees shall be provided leave for regularly called jury duty, and to appear as a witness in Court, other than as a litigant, for reasons not brought about through the convenience or misconduct of the employee. 2. The employee, while serving jury duty, will receive pay in the amount of the difference between the employee’s regular earnings and any amount received for jury service. The employee may retain any fee paid as a travel allowance. 3. If the employee does not wish jury duty pay to be deducted from the paycheck, he/she must submit a check for the amount of the jury duty pay with the monthly absence report covering the time he/she was on judicial leave.
