Labour Hire/Special Rates Assignments. For employees engaged on ‘labour hire’ or special task assignments on a full time basis where a temporary/higher ordinary time wage rate is payable for three months or longer – the rate of pay received when taking annual leave will be the higher/temporary rate provided: ⮚ The leave is taken during or immediately following the ‘labour hire’ or special task assignment; and ⮚ No more leave is taken/paid at the higher rate than that which accrued during the period of the ‘labour hire’ or special task assignment.

Where an employee applies to take annual leave during or immediately following the labour hire/special task assignment, and approval for such leave is not given by the company because it does not suit the needs of the business, the employee and the company will reach agreement as to when such leave can be taken at the higher/temporary rate.
