Lactation Breaks. Breaks for Lactation/Expression of Milk - The District shall not discriminate against, discipline or take any adverse employment action against any employee because such employee has elected to exercise their rights under this section. The District shall provide a reasonable break time for an employee, while individual needs may differ recommended planning is for not less than 15 minutes, to express breast milk each time the employee has a need to express milk. The District shall provide a private location, other than a bathroom, to accommodate the employee’s needs to express milk. The location provided shall be private and free from intrusion and must be functional as a space for expressing milk. Whenever possible the space will include seating, adequate light, a sink with running water, or be as close to a water source as possible that is not a bathroom. Additionally, the district or building administrator shall work with the employee to identify a convenient location and work schedule to accommodate their needs. The district or building administrator shall provide a system for reserving a space. The district or building administrator shall ensure that staff have the ability to access the space independently.
