LAY-OFFS AND RECALL. 16.01 In case of lay-off, the Company will consider the requirements and efficiency of the operation and the department, and the qualifications, skill and ability of the individual to perform the required work in determining which employee is to be laid-off. Where these factors are equal, in the opinion of the Company, the employees with the greatest departmental seniority will be the last to be laid-off and the first to be recalled from lay-off provided the employee retained or recalled, as the case may be, can meet production requirements and satisfactorily perform the work that is available. 16.02 It shall be the duty of each employee to notify the Company promptly of any change of address and telephone number. Notice required of the Company shall be deemed to be given if forwarded to the employee at the last address of which the company had notice.
