Leave of Absence for Full-Time Union Duties. An employee elected or appointed to a full-time position with the Union or CAW, its affiliated or chartered bodies, shall be granted leave of absence without compensation for a period of up to ONE (1) year. The District may, if requested by the Union in writing, extend the leave of absence for a further ONE (1) year. Maintenance of pay and benefits and associated reimbursement shall be arranged between the District and Union on a case by case basis.
