Leave Respecting Sample Clauses

Leave Respecting the Disappearance of a Child Employees are entitled to an unpaid leave of up to the maximum set out in the Employment Standards Act in the event that their child under 19 years of age has gone missing and it is probable the child’s disappearance is the result of a crime. If the child is found alive during the leave, the leave will end 14 days thereafter. If the child is found deceased, the leave will end immediately.

Leave Respecting the Death of a Child; • Leave Respecting Domestic or Sexual Violence (which includes a paid portion of leave); • Critical Illness Leave; and The Employer will permit such leaves in accordance with the terms set out in the Employment Standards Act, as it may be amended from time to time. Any staff member who feels they might be eligible for any of the above leaves should contact the Employer.

  • Sick Leave Records A record of all unused sick leave will be kept by the Employer. Immediately after the close of each calendar year, each employee shall be advised of the amount of sick leave accrued to their credit.

  • Pregnancy Sick Leave Leave for illness of a Nurse arising out of or associated with a Nurse’s pregnancy prior to the commencement of, or the ending of, pregnancy leave granted in accordance with Article 13.00, may be granted sick leave in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement.

  • Examination Leave 35.3.1 Examination leave with pay shall be granted for an employee to write an examination for an accredited secondary school, technological institute or university subject, provided the course of study of the employee concerned can reasonably be construed by the Council as likely to increase the employee’s usefulness to the Council and is not an examination for a completely extraneous subject.

  • Examination Leave With Pay At the Employer’s discretion, examination leave with pay may be granted to an employee for the purpose of writing an examination which takes place during the employee’s scheduled hours of work. Such leave will only be granted where, in the opinion of the Employer, the course of study is directly related to the employee’s duties or will improve his/her qualifications.

  • Maternity/Paternity/Adoption Leave An Employee who is expecting the birth or adoption of a child shall be entitled to maternity/paternity/adoption leave without pay, provided she presents a medical certificate confirming the probable date of confinement, or in the case of adoption, gives the Employer notice of eligibility. Except in extenuating circumstances, the notice shall be submitted in writing at least twenty-eight (28) days in advance of the leave and shall specify the probable date of commencement and the anticipated length of leave. The following conditions shall apply:
