Leave Substitution. A unit member may interrupt vacation and substitute bereavement leave and/or illness/accident leave when the illness/accident requires doctor's care. Vacation leave may be interrupted only for the actual number of days of bereavement or illness during those days the unit member is under doctor's care. Verification of illness, accident or death must be provided to the District prior to granting payment for such leave.
