Legislative Leave. Except as otherwise provided by law, a tenured faculty member who is elected or appointed to the State Legislature, Congress, or appointed to government service, shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence for the length of the term of office, not to exceed eight (8) years. A. The faculty member on such leave shall notify the college of an intended return at least sixteen (16) weeks in advance. B. The faculty member on such leave shall be entitled to return to employment at the end of the leave, but shall not be entitled to any other benefits while on leave.
