Common use of Local Federation Leave Clause in Contracts

Local Federation Leave. (a) At the request of the Local, the Board shall arrange to pay the Local President at a rate of pay determined by the Bargaining Unit, prorated. The Local agrees to reimburse the Board for the full amount paid in accordance with this article. (b) At the request of the Local, the Board shall pay a Long Term Occasional teacher at grid rate when engaged in Union business. A Casual Occasional teacher shall be paid at the daily rate. The leave request must be in full or half-day increments and shall be directed to the Superintendent of Human Resources or designate. These leaves shall not exceed seventy-five (75) teaching days in total in any one school year for the Bargaining Unit. The Local agrees to reimburse the Board the daily rate for an Occasional Teacher.
