Common use of Mandatory Training Clause in Contracts

Mandatory Training. Where the Employer requires an employee to attend a training course, the Employee will receive pay at the straight time rate, except in the following circumstances: (i) the employee will receive pay at the applicable overtime rate for all hours in attendance at a training course on a day of rest, or all hours in excess of an employee’s scheduled hours of work; (ii) an employee who works and attends a training course on a day other than a day of rest, will be paid at the applicable overtime rate for all hours worked or in training in excess of the employee’s scheduled hours of work.
