Common use of Meal/Rest Period Clause in Contracts

Meal/Rest Period. All nurses shall receive an unpaid meal period of one-half (1/2) hour for four hours of work. Nurses required to remain on duty and/or in the hospital during their meal period shall be compensated for such time at the appropriate rate of pay. Nurses must notify their supervisor of their inability to take their meal period. Nurses shall receive one (1) paid fifteen (15) minute break during every four (4) hours of work.
