Medically Fragile Children. No bargaining unit member, except an employee hired for that purpose, shall be required to provide custodial care or health services or any act or function constituting the practice of medicine, except in an emergency situation. Appropriate training with regard to health-related services required by medically fragile children will be provided to teachers responsible for educational services to such children, but only to the extent that this training is necessary to protect the well being of the child and only to the extent permitted by law.

Medically Fragile Children. Some children have complex medical conditions that require the availability of twenty-four (24) hour, skilled care from a health professional or a specially trained xxxxxx family member. Their conditions may be present all the time or occur frequently. The provision of proper technology, support, and service for these children is critical. If interrupted or denied, the failure to provide immediate health care intervention could result in death. Medically fragile children need quality, safe, loving xxxxxx parents who have the medical skill and understanding to meet both their vital medical needs and nurture their emotional well-being. Xxxxxx parents must also be committed to helping the child’s parents understand the special care needs for their children when they return home or move into a permanent placement.

  • Medically Necessary In general, We will not Cover any dental service, procedure, treatment, test or device that We determine is not Medically Necessary.   • Orthodontics We Cover orthodontics used to help restore oral structures to health and function and to treat serious medical conditions such as: cleft palate and cleft lip; maxillary/mandibular micrognathia (underdeveloped upper or lower jaw); extreme mandibular prognathism; severe asymmetry (craniofacial anomalies); ankylosis of the temporomandibular joint; and other significant skeletal dysplasias.

  • Your Children If your plan includes family coverage, each of your and your spouse’s children are eligible for coverage until the last day of the month in which they turn twenty-six (26). For purposes of determining eligibility for coverage, the term children means: • Natural children; • Step-children; • Legally adopted children; • Xxxxxx children who have been placed with you by an authorized placement agency or court order. A child for whom healthcare coverage is required through a Qualified Medical Child Support Order or other court or administrative order is also eligible for coverage. Your employer is responsible for determining if an order meets the criteria of a Qualified Medical Child Support Order. We may request more information from you to confirm your child’s eligibility. In accordance with R.I. General Law § 27-20-45, when your enrolled unmarried child reaches the maximum dependent age of twenty-six (26), he or she can continue to be considered an eligible dependent only if he or she is determined by us to be a disabled dependent. If you have an unmarried child of any age who is financially dependent upon you and medically determined to have a physical or mental impairment, which can be expected to result in death or which has lasted or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than twelve (12) months, that child is an eligible disabled dependent under this agreement. Please contact our Customer Service Department, to obtain the necessary form to verify the child’s disabled status. Periodically you may be asked to submit additional documents to confirm the child’s disabled status.

  • Hospice Individuals whose permanent residence and principal work location are outside the State of Minnesota and outside of the service areas of the health plans participating in Advantage. If these individuals use the plan administrator’s national preferred provider organization in their area, services will be covered at Benefit Level Two. If a national preferred provider is not available in their area, services will be covered at Benefit Level Two through any other provider available in their area. If the national preferred provider organization is available but not used, benefits will be paid at the POS level described in paragraph “i” below. All terms and conditions outlined in the Summary of Benefits will apply.

  • Mental Health The parties recognize the importance of supporting and promoting a psychologically healthy workplace and as such will adhere to all applicable statutes, policy, guidelines and regulations pertaining to the promotion of mental health.

  • HEALTH PROGRAM 3701 Health examinations required by the Employer shall be provided by the Employer and shall be at the expense of the Employer. 3702 Time off without loss of regular pay shall be allowed at a time determined by the Employer for such medical examinations and laboratory tests, provided that these are performed on the Employer’s premises, or at a facility designated by the Employer. 3703 With the approval of the Employer, a nurse may choose to be examined by a physician of her/his own choice, at her/his own expense, as long as the Employer receives a statement as to the fitness of the nurse from the physician. 3704 Time off for medical and dental examinations and/or treatments may be granted and such time off, including necessary travel time, shall be chargeable against accumulated income protection benefits.

  • Family Illness The start of a family leave for a serious health condition of a family member shall begin on the date requested by the employee or designated by Management.
