Natural Communities. Conservation Goals and Objectives have been developed and shall be implemented for each of the Covered Natural Communities in the MSHCP and are set forth in Section 10 of the MSHCP.
Natural Communities. Complete a comprehensive floral and faunal survey and update the park’s baseline plant and animal list. • Within 10 years, have 450 acres of the park maintained within the optimum fire return interval. • Conduct natural community/habitat restoration activities on 50 acres of upland mixed woodland natural community. • Conduct natural community/habitat improvement activities on 75 acres of mesic flatwood and scrubby flatwoods natural communities. Imperiled Species • Update baseline imperiled species occurrence list. • Monitor and document three selected imperiled animal species in the park. • Monitor and document four selected imperiled plant species in the park. Invasive and Nuisance Species • Annually treat 42 gross acres of invasive plants. • Develop and implement measures to prevent the introduction and spread of invasive plants into the park. • Implement control measures on 1 nuisance and invasive animal species in the park.
Natural Communities. The Plan will provide for conservation of ecosystems, habitats, and ecosystem function to ensure conservation of biological diversity of the natural communities in the Planning Area. A preliminary list of natural communities in the Planning Area is included in Exhibit A.
Natural Communities. The Natural Environment Study (NES) prepared for this project identifies natural biological communities within the Biological Study Area (BSA); the vast majority of landmass is developed and agricultural lands, and areas of natural vegetation. The most common agricultural fields include row crops, alfalfa, rice fields, and grains. Orchards also occur throughout the Biological Study Area (BSA). A few small patches of annual grasses and weedy ruderal vegetation exist along roadsides, buildings, and dirt roads throughout the BSA. Impacts to interior live oak woodland range from 3.07 acres of direct impacts and 0.37 acre of indirect impacts with the proposed project. Impacts to blue oak savannah consist of 0.23 acre of direct impacts and 0.77 acre of indirect impacts.
Natural Communities. Two vegetation types occur on the site growing on their respective soil types: brush and forest. Brushlands grow on generally south-exposed slopes and Consultants Buzzard Lagoon Restoration Plan 6 plant cover is comprised predominately of coyote bushes. Soils those areas are dry, thin, and with Little matter. Wildlife observed were birds (towhees, sparrows), fox scat, and western fence lizards. The coyote xxxx type covers areas which had undoubtedly been cleared and . represents natural recovery of plant communities. Forest cover is primarily redwood and Xxxxxxx fir trees. Tree heights mostly exceed 50 feet and often approach 100 feet or more. trees are also common. Some live oaks grow along the edges of clearings. Virtually no wildlife was observed. The forest is also characterized by large redwood stumps indicative of forest clearing by logging, which occurred a little over one hundred years ago.
Natural Communities. Within 10 years, have 1460 acres of the park maintained within the optimum fire return interval. • Conduct habitat/natural community restoration activities on 225 acres of upland pine and upland mixed woodland natural communities. • Conduct habitat/natural community improvement activities on 85 acres of sandhill community. Imperiled Species • Update baseline imperiled species occurrence list • Continue existing monitoring protocols for 8 selected imperiled animal species in the park. • Continue existing monitoring protocols for 2 selected imperiled plant species in the park. • Compile and convert imperiled species distribution and abundance data into electronic format in a geospatial database. Invasive and Nuisance Species • Annually treat 20 infested acres of invasive plant species in the park which are dispersed over approximately 453 gross acres. • Develop and implement measures to prevent the accidental introduction or further spread of invasive exotic plants in the park. • Implement control measures on a minimum of three nuisance and invasive animal species in the park.
Natural Communities. Complete a comprehensive floral and faunal survey and update the park's baseline plant and animal list with newly acquired land. Imperiled Species • Develop/Update baseline imperiled species occurrence inventory lists for plants and animals. • Monitor and document 8 selected imperiled animal species in the park (Worthington's xxxxx xxxx, Xxxxxxxxxxxx'x seaside sparrow, 3 marine turtle species, piping plover, Xxxxxx’x plover, and least tern). • Monitor and document 2 selected imperiled plant species in the park (shell-mound prickly pear and pine pinweed).
Natural Communities. Within 10 years, have 2,100 acres of the two parks maintained within the optimum fire return interval. • Conduct habitat/natural community restoration activities on 227 acres of upland pine and upland mixed woodland communities. • Conduct habitat/natural community restoration activities on 44 acres of sandhill community. • Conduct natural community/habitat improvement activities on 265 acres of upland pine and upland mixed woodland communities. • Conduct natural community/habitat improvement activities on 49 acres of sandhill community. • Conduct natural community/habitat improvement activities on 15 acres of scrubby flatwoods community. Imperiled Species • Update baseline imperiled species occurrence list by conducting additional surveys. • Continue existing monitoring protocols for 6 selected imperiled animal species in the two parks (3 imperiled butterfly species, an endangered mussel, southern dusky salamander, and gopher tortoise). • Monitor and document 3 selected imperiled plant species in the two parks(incised agrimony, modest spleenwort, and plume polyplody).
