Common use of Normal Hours of Work Clause in Contracts

Normal Hours of Work. (a) The normal daily and weekly hours of work for shift employees with letter code X shall be (1) seven and one half (7½) hours per shift and thirty-seven and one half (37½) hours per week, excluding meal breaks, averaged over a two (2) or four (4) week period, or (2) eleven and one-quarter (11¼) hours per shift and thirty seven and one half ( 37½) hours per week, excluding meal breaks, averaged over not more than a six (6) week period. (b) The normal daily hours for shift employees with letter code Y shall be eight (8) hours per shift, excluding meal breaks. The normal scheduled weekly hours of work shall be forty (40) hours averaged over two (2) pay periods. (c) Designated meal breaks shall be scheduled as close as possible to the middle of the shift.
