Common use of Notice of Shift Schedules Clause in Contracts

Notice of Shift Schedules. Schedules of shift work for regular employees and temporary employees working a scheduled shift shall be posted at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the starting day of a new schedule. However, the Employer will make every effort to post shift schedules fourteen (14) days in advance, and employees involved will be consulted prior to any change in the shift schedule in order to determine their availability. In the event that an employee's schedule of shift work and/or hours of work are changed without the forty-eight (48) hours advance notice required, the employee will receive the second shift premium pursuant to 14.02 for work performed on the first new scheduled shift to which they changed in addition to their regular pay. Subsequent shifts worked on the new schedules shall be without this premium.
