Common use of Number of Observations Clause in Contracts

Number of Observations. All licensed staff members in the District will be observed and receive formative feedback.The evaluation team that will conduct the observations will be as follows for each licensed staff group: 1. Continuing Contract Teachers on cycle years 1 and 2 require one observation by an administrator & coaching session 2. Continuing Contract Teachers on cycle year 3 require one evaluation by an administrator 3. Probationary teachers in Years 1, 2 and 3 require three formal observations and one summative evaluation by an administrator. a. First-year probationary licensed staff members will be observed at least 3 times per year by an administrator or program director and at least once by an Instructional Coach. b. Second- and third-year probationary licensed staff members will be observed at least 3 times per year by an administrator or program director and at least once by an Instructional Coach. 4. For probationary licensed staff members working less than a 185 day contract (late hires, LTS, etc.) the following minimum administrative expectations are: a. Contracted 16-59 days require one formal observation b. Contracted 60-119 days require two formal observations + Professional Practice Self- Reflection and Goal Setting c. Contracted 120+ days require three formal observations + Professional Practice Self- Reflection and Goal Setting
