Pre-Observation Conference. The pre-observation conference shall be held prior to the first formal observation. The teacher and evaluator will mutually agree when to conference. The purpose of the pre- observation conference is to discuss the employee’s goals, establish a date for the formal observation, and to discuss such matters as the professional activities to be observed, their content, objectives, strategies, and possible observable evidence to meet the scoring criteria.
Pre-Observation Conference. The “Pre-Observation Conference” shall be defined as a meeting between the evaluator and the teacher to be held prior to a formal observation. The intent of this conference is to discuss the lesson to be observed and other related topics as appropriate.
Pre-Observation Conference. The unit member to be evaluated shall have the option as to whether or not to meet with the evaluation team in a pre-observation conference. If the conference is held, its purpose shall be to discuss the criteria and procedures of the evaluation, the time and conditions of the observation visitations, and the time of the post-observation conference. Regardless of whether at the election of the unit member being evaluated the pre-observation conference is or is not held, the time of the observation visitations and the time of the post-observation conference shall be set by mutual agreement of the unit member and the evaluators at their convenience.
Pre-Observation Conference. A conference initiated by the evaluator will be held at least one (1) workday prior to a formal observation. The teacher will provide the lesson plan and materials pertinent to the lesson. Additional pre-observation conferences, requested by the teacher teacher/counselor, will also be held at least one (1) workday prior to the observation.
Pre-Observation Conference. The conference held between the teacher and evaluator prior to the formal observation to discuss the lesson prepared for the scheduled formal observation. The evaluator will ask questions of the teacher to preview the components of the lesson. It is expected that the teacher will share the formal observation lesson plan and any other pertinent teacher or student artifacts. During such time, the evaluator will score in domains related to planning and preparing as it pertains to the lesson to be observed, or other applicable evaluation framework domains.
Pre-Observation Conference a conference that may be held prior to formal observations. This is required for provisional employees or employees whose performance does not meet expectations.
Pre-Observation Conference. (Initial assignment in discipline or program only.) The instructor is requested to bring the syllabus, handouts, assigned text(s) and readings as well as statements about the content of the course. Non-teaching faculty should discuss job descriptions, goals and objectives. This conference should take place by the fourth week of the semester.
a. The Xxxx and/or designee will meet with the new Adjunct Faculty Member to discuss the evaluation instruments and process; and
b. Decide on class/workplace and the date of the visitation, student evaluationsand review the class syllabus, text, and/or other, materials as needed.
c. Non-teaching Adjuncts who do classroom presentation as part of their job responsibilities may choose between a classroom observation or a workplace observation.
d. For short-term classes (those that meet for less than a full semester), adjusted timelines will be mutually agreed upon at the pre-conference meeting.
Pre-Observation Conference. Within the three week period following the notice of evaluation, the evaluator shall meet with the teacher for discussion to clarify the process and criteria to be used.
Pre-Observation Conference. Prior to the observation, permanent, temporary, and probationary unit members shall provide the primary evaluator with a copy of the lesson plan covering the observation period. Temporary and probationary unit members being evaluated shall have a pre-observation conference with the primary evaluator. Although a pre-observation conference is not required for permanent unit members, a pre-observation conference shall be held at the request of either the primary evaluator or the unit member. At the Pre- Observation Conference, the primary evaluator and the unit member shall review and discuss the Observation Form. The Observation Form is attached as Appendix J-1 and is incorporated into this section. The lesson plan provided to the primary evaluator in this conference shall contain the following elements: ● Focus Standard for the Lesson; ● Essential Understanding for the Instructional Unit; ● Lesson Objectives; ● Language Objectives (ELD Standards)
Pre-Observation Conference i. A pre-observation conference shall be held with the teacher before classroom observations begin to collaborate on the following:
(a) the criteria of evaluation;
(b) the classroom observation process;
(c) the data gathering/sharing process;
(d) the draft report;
(e) the presentation of the final report, and;
(f) the expected timeline of the process.
ii. Subsequent pre-observation conferences which focus on Article C.3.3.b.i.(b) above will be held prior to each classroom observation if requested by the teacher. These conferences may be combined with the post-observation conferences described in Article C.3.3.d.
