Common use of Orientation and Skills Maintenance Clause in Contracts

Orientation and Skills Maintenance. Nurses shall receive orientation and training upon hire to include but not limited to the patient population and setting, clinical procedures, regulatory compliance and general agency procedures. All nurses new to the agency will be assigned a preceptor for a time period that is mutually agreed upon between the manager and the nurse. The Agency will take into consideration the nurse’s previous clinical experience, skills and expressed needs in determining individualized orientation which shall be sufficient to allow the nurse to reach core competency.
