Common use of PAID DUTY Clause in Contracts

PAID DUTY. 19.1 The Chief of Police shall allocate paid duties, as defined in Article 1, Section 8, to the members on a fair basis. When a constable works a paid duty, he shall be paid at the rate of time and one half a first class constable's hourly rate with a minimum of four (4) hours. Where, in the opinion of the Chief of Police, it is necessary for a Sergeant to act in that capacity on an authorized paid duty, the Chief of Police shall notify the person requesting the paid duty personnel and the Sergeant shall be paid at time and one half his hourly rate with a minimum of four (4) hours.
