Common use of Paid Family Leave Clause in Contracts

Paid Family Leave. During the first year of the term of the MOU, the City shall implement a paid leave benefit to provide partial wage replacement for up to eight (8) weeks for the purposes of caring for a seriously ill family member, bonding with a newly born child, adopted child, or fostered child, or to attend to a qualifying exigency related to covered active military duty of a family member. The Paid Family Leave benefit calculation shall be equivalent to that of the California State EDD benefit.
