Common use of Paid Holidays Falling on Saturday or Sunday Clause in Contracts

Paid Holidays Falling on Saturday or Sunday. When a paid holiday falls on a Saturday and/or Sunday and it is the employee’s designated day off, it shall be observed on the following Monday and/or Tuesday. If the paid holiday in question is not the employee’s designated day off, the paid holiday shall remain on its original date.

When a any of the paid holiday falls holidays fall on a Saturday and/or or a Sunday and it is not declared or proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the employee’s designated day off, it or days immediately preceding or following the paid holiday(s) shall be observed on deemed by the following Monday and/or Tuesday. If Employer (after consultation with the Union) to be the paid holiday in question is not the employee’s designated day off, the paid holiday shall remain on its original dateholiday(s).
