Common use of Part-Day Absences Clause in Contracts

Part-Day Absences. It is understood by the employer and the employee that there are valid, approvable circumstances that may cause the employee to be absent from work for a portion of the work day. A one-half day absence shall be defined as occurring either between 7:50 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. or between 11:30 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. A partial school day absence that starts after 7:50 a.m. and ends after 11:30 a.m. shall be charged as a full day of absence. (Note-For employees with different work schedules, a half-day absence will be charged for a half-day or less of the employee’s regular work day and a full-day absence will be charged for more than one half of the employee’s regular work day.)
