Pavement Evaluation. GEOCON will evaluate existing pavement and subgrade conditions by performing pavement coring along Xxxxxx Field Road from Folsom Boulevard to the Xxxxxx Field Road and International Drive intersection and provide conclusions and recommendations for repair and/or rehabilitation. Rehabilitation will likely include isolated dig outs and grind/overlay with or without a pavement reinforcement interlayer. GEOCON will perform the following services: Scope of Services ‐ Xxxxxx Field Rehabilitation Contract No. 000-0000-0  A GEOCON senior staff engineer will perform a site visit to observe existing pavement conditions and to pre‐xxxx proposed core locations.  Notify subscribing utility companies via Underground Service Alert (USA) a minimum of two working days (as required by law) prior to performing exploratory excavations at the site.  Obtain an encroachment permit from the City of Rancho Xxxxxxx (assume no fee).  Perform up to 8 pavement cores within the northbound and southbound lanes of Xxxxxx Field Road. Four (4) cores each will be located north and south of US Highway 50 in the northbound and southbound lanes.  Provide necessary traffic control measures during fieldwork.  Measure existing pavement section material thicknesses at the core locations.  Obtain subgrade soil samples from the core locations.  Patch the cores with rapid‐set concrete or cold‐patch asphalt concrete (AC).
Pavement Evaluation. The ENGINEER shall perform a network level investigation to review the pavement inventory from the Pavement Management Information System (PMIS) condition data and to provide high-level assessment of the needs of the pavement sections along the corridor. The network level evaluation shall be based on data collected at the network level by TxDOT as part of the PMIS and is intended for planning, and high-level assessment of the pavement needs. The STATE will provide the following data in a spreadsheet or other usable format for the Engineer’s use in the Pavement Evaluation task:  Corridor pavement Inventory, including PMIS pavement segmentation, pavement types, dimension, number of lanes, etc. within each segment ;  Most recent pavement distress survey and other information from PMIS; DocuSign Envelope ID: 9E4E3B84-8519-409C-AEF8-0383FB0D2E89  Available pavement construction history and maintenance records;  Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) results, recent coring reports, or pavement thicknesses based on GPR reports (if available); and  International Roughness Index (IRI) survey results from the PMIS The ENGINEER shall perform the following subtasks:  Data Review: TxDOT’s PMIS contains a database of the pavement roadway inventory and pavement condition survey data updated annually. The ENGINEER shall review the PMIS inventory and pavement condition. In addition, the ENGINEER shall review construction and maintenance records provided by the STATE.
Pavement Evaluation. With the pavement image collection started, DTS will begin processing pavement images immediately to continue on a prompt delivery. This allows DTS to begin the pavement distress rating process concurrent with the image collection. DTS’ pavement line scan images allow the pavement evaluator to determine the type, extent and severity of pavement distresses. DTS will also use industry standard Crack Scope software to map specific pavement distresses. Longitudinal, transverse and alligator (fatigue) distresses will be initially identified with this automated pavement distress processing software. This software provides an automated distress map of these distresses on each pavement image. Once pavement images and distress mapping processing is complete for each collection day, DTS' experienced pavement evaluators will review each street segment image for a complete and thorough evaluation of the existing pavement condition per the ASTM D6433 pavement distress rating process. DTS' pavement evaluators have the ability to modify, delete or add to the longitudinal, transverse and alligator distress map at any time during the rating process utilizing DTS' remote sensing software EarthShaper™.
