Common use of Pay for Holidays Worked Clause in Contracts

Pay for Holidays Worked. If the Company requires an employee to work on a holiday covered by this section, such employee shall be paid at the rate of two (2) times his straight time hourly rate for the hours worked in addition to the holiday allowance provided he qualifies for holiday pay under Article 10.02. If any such employee agrees to work on such a holiday and fails to report for work on such holiday, the employee shall lose holiday pay unless he produces a good and sufficient cause for not reporting. If an employee is on the afternoon or night shift at the time of the holiday, he shall receive the shift differential.

If the Company requires an employee to work works on a holiday covered by this sectionlisted in section (1), such employee shall he/she will be paid at two times the employee’s regular rate of two (2) times his straight time hourly rate pay for all hours actually worked on the hours worked holiday, in addition to the holiday allowance provided he qualifies for holiday pay under Article 10.02. If any such employee agrees to work on such a holiday and fails to report for work on such holiday, the employee shall lose holiday pay unless he produces a good and sufficient cause for not reporting. If an employee is on the afternoon or night shift at the time of the holiday, he shall receive the shift differentialpay.
