Common use of Payment for Vacation Leave Clause in Contracts

Payment for Vacation Leave. a. Except as provided in Article 23, Section 2, upon separation from service for any cause, an employee shall be paid a lump sum payment for any unused or accumulated vacation earned through the last day worked. If this is earlier than the last day of the pay period, the vacation shall be prorated. Payment for unused vacation leave will be at the employee's base hourly rate on the last day worked prior to separation.
