College Courses. Regular employees within the bargaining unit shall be entitled to attend and participate in any course offered by the College based on the following conditions:
(a) employee registration shall not factor in the decision to cancel a course due to insufficient student registration, and
(b) employees will shall assume costs for textbooks and/or supplies, and
(c) an employee registration cannot take the place of a fee paying student, and
(d) courses shall be taken on employees own time, and
(e) the employee satisfies normal course prerequisites, and
(f) results in no additional instructional costs to the College, and
(g) for courses that are taken under this clause that are job related, upon approval prior to commencing the course the College shall reimburse the employee one hundred percent (100%) of the cost of textbooks.
College Courses. Employees of the Bargaining Unit shall be entitled to enroll and participate in any course offered by the College provided the employee registration does not take the place of a fee-paying student and the course will be taken on the employee's own time. The College shall waive tuition fees.
College Courses. The City agrees to reimburse Bargaining Unit employees for up to an annual maximum amount of $2,500 including tuition & textbooks per calendar year. Reimbursement will be made in an amount equivalent to a portion of the tuition cost according to the following schedule: Course Grade “C” – 50%; Course Grade “B” or “A” – 100%. Reimbursement will be made upon presentation of evidence showing proof that above requirement has been met. Courses must be taken in pursuit of an associate or bachelor’s degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, business, professional studies, or behavioral sciences, or a Masters degree in criminal justice, business, or public administration. All degrees must be at a state-accredited institution of higher learning, as recommended by the City Manager or his designee.
College Courses. A. The City agrees to reimburse Bargaining Unit members for completion of course work and books up to $2,500 annually. Courses, other than the State Certified EMT course, must be taken in pursuit of an Associate of Science or an Associate of Arts degree in Fire Administration, EMS or Fire Science Bachelors or Masters Degree. Reimbursement will be made in accordance to the following schedule: Course Grade “A” or “B” – 100% Course Grade “C” – 50%
B. Funds may be expended for legitimate travel expenses in accordance with City travel policy including dormitories. Reimbursement will be made upon presentation of evidence showing proof that the above requirement has been met. EMT courses and certification fees shall also be reimbursed. Courses must be taken at an accredited state institute of higher learning.
College Courses. All college courses submitted for credit under the salary schedule shall be subject to one of the following requirements for approval:
14.4.2.1.1 College courses in the teacher's present or assigned future teaching assignment.
14.5.2.1.2 Courses in possible future employment assignments arrived at by consultation with the administration.
14.4.5.1.3 Courses in professional education relating to the teaching position of the teacher and courses that will improve the teacher in the classroom.
14.4.5.1.4 Courses that aid or prepare the teacher for present or assigned future extra-curricular activities are acceptable as a portion of a balanced program of professional growth units designed to improve the teacher’s presentation in his classroom duties as well as his/her extra-curricular activities.
14.4.2.1.5 Repeating college courses directly related to teaching assignment.
College Courses a. Dual credit courses under the governance and assessment of TJC are college-level classes in curricula, content, rigor, grading and weighting, and instruction during the College term, which may provide both college transcript credit and high school credit.
b. Dual credit courses must follow the TJC departments’ established syllabi, as well as the grading/weighting of assignments, exams, labs and projects to maintain the academic integrity and rigor of the college course.
c. The School District may not impose additional curricular requirements on the college class or the instructor of record for the college course.
d. Dual credit courses use the College’s approved learning management system and gradebook. The gradebook must be kept up to date weekly for students to maintain awareness of status in the course.
e. All evaluations and observations of TJC College classes and dual credit professors must be completed by a TJC department chair or faculty member designated by the department chair. School District evaluations taking place cannot change the college curriculum, rigor, grading, weighting or pedagogy.

a. they are not one of the minimum number required to ensure "go" status of the course,
b. there is a vacant seat for the employee, spouse or dependent children on the first day of class. If there is a vacant seat on the first day of class and an employee, spouse or dependent child has guaranteed a seat by paying the tuition, s/he shall be entitled to a tuition refund for the course. If a seat becomes vacant after the first day of class and there is no prospective fee- paying student on a wait list, and an employee, spouse or dependent child has not guaranteed a seat by paying the tuition, s/he shall be exempted from paying tuition fees. Admission requirements shall apply to all prospective students and shall not be waived for the purposes of this article. The prospective student is not exempted from any other non-tuition fees or material costs which students may be required to pay, or from any other requirements students are expected to fulfil. For the purposes of this article, dependent children shall be defined as children under the age of twenty-five (25) years residing with the employee.

d. Where an employee, spouse or dependent child has not guaranteed a seat by paying the tuition, in order for that employee, spouse or dependent to be eligible for tuition fee exemption, the employee must submit the appropriate application form to Human Resources by no later than ten (10) working days after the first day of class for the course for which tuition exemption is being applied.
e. Admission requirements shall apply to all prospective students and shall not be waived for the purposes of this article.
f. The prospective student is not exempted from any other non-tuition fees or material costs which students may be required to pay, or from any other requirements students are expected to fulfil. When the tuition fee includes imbedded costs such as books, material costs, instructor costs per students, exam fees, equipment rental costs or other such costs the prospective student will be required to pay for such imbedded costs.
g. Where a number of employees or their spouses or dependents have paid their tuition fees in advance of the course in order to be a student in the course, and: • it is as a result of such students that the course have reached the “go status” referenced in 17.03a above; and • the number of employees or their spouses or dependents that have paid their tuition ...
College Courses. A. The Hospital will provide tuition reimbursement based on provided receipts to nurses who successfully complete college level nursing education programs. The criterion for determining reimbursement is as follows:
1. The course must relate to the nurse's current Hospital work or future Hospital position in nursing. This determination will be made at the discretion of the Nursing Administration; such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld.
2. Nurses must request reimbursement on a form provided by the Hospital and receive authorization in writing prior to registering for the course(s). The written request, including goals to be obtained, must be submitted to Nursing Administration. Approval of tuition reimbursement will be made by the Vice President in charge of Nursing Services upon recommendation of the nurse's immediate supervisor.
3. For reimbursement, the nurse must receive a grade of "C" or higher for undergraduate courses, a grade of "B" or higher for graduate courses, or the nurse must pass in pass/fail courses.
4. Reimbursement for courses completed will be as follows:
a. The maximum budget available for this program shall be twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) per year. Unused monies shall not be carried over from year to year. Allocations from this fund to an individual nurse above $5,000 per fiscal year shall be approved by the PNCC.
5. If the nurse leaves the employment of the Hospital for any reason before one (1) calendar year following receipt of reimbursement under this program, s/he shall be responsible for reimbursing the Hospital for any monies paid out in total under the program, unless the Hospital waives this provision in writing.
College Courses college courses, including correspondence courses, taken for salary advancement 16 purposes, require prior approval by the site administrator and by the Chief Personnel Officer on 17 forms provided by the District.
